If you are tired of hiking and want to try something else in Bar Harbor consider some of our recommended things to do!

Bar Harbor Favorites

There are many things to do in and around Bar Harbor. In addition to the many stores and restaurants in the town of Bar Harbor there are a host of other activities that are highly recommended:

Sail on the Margaret Todd

Take a sail on the Margaret Todd. The 151' Margaret Todd is the only working 4 masted schooner on the East Coast. The 2 hour sail on Frenchman Bay is truly spectacular. Once out of the harbor captain Pagels asks for volunteers from the guests to help hoist the sails. Then the ship sails around where the wind is in the bay. As you pass by the Porcupine Islands and other sections or the rocky coast you may spot an eagle, a seal or even a harbor porpoise.

Lobster Bake at the Terrace Grille

A trip to Maine is not complete with out a lobster dinner. There are many places in the area to experience lobster at its best but few compare to a Lobster Bake at the Terrace Grille right next to the Bar Harbor Inn. Not only do you get the freshest lobster, clams, mussels and corn but you can sit by the harbor and watch the boats as they come and go. It is a fantastic location to enjoy lunch or dinner!
